2016 OSAA ALL STATE FOOTBALL TEAM ANNOUNCED

The OSAA has released it’s All State Football team for 2016 and 5 Central Oregon athletes have made the cut.

The 9-2 Summit Storm ended the regular season ranked #1 in the State, so it is no big surprise to see 3 members of the Storm on the All State First Team, including Sr QB John Bledsoe, Sr TE Grant Tobias, and Sr Punter Kyle Cornett.

While the Storm did lose in the quarter finals of the playoffs to Dallas 29-28, Summit also lead the 5A in academics with their athletes averaging a 3.53 GPA.

The other representative of Central Oregon on the 5A All State Team is Redmond’s Sr. LB Cooger Smith. The 6-5 Panthers also made it to the quarterfinals of the OSAA playoffs where they lost to Central 42-36. During the regular season, they were 5-2 in the IMC.

Central Oregon also has 1 first teamer in the 4A as well from 7-3 Sisters Outlaws. Sr TE Tyler Head was one of the best receivers and blockers in the 4A.
