Nike Hoop Summit Features Oregon Duck Recruit Bol Bol
The 21st edition of the Nike Hoop Summit, featuring a team of top U.S. high school seniors against elite international players age 19-and-under, returns to Portland for an 11th consecutive year. The Nike Hoop Summit, played at the Moda Center on Friday, April 13th at 7:00 P.M., is one of the premier spots to see a mass of future NBA talent in one game. Alumni include the past eight number one overall NBA Draft picks and more than 100 active players in the NBA.
Oregon Duck recruits Louis King, 6’5, 204 (Hudson Catholic H.S., Columbus, N.J.) and Bol Bol, 7’1, 225 (Findley Prep, Nev./ Olathe, Kan.) are both on Team USA, but King will not play due to injury according to a USA Basketball press release. DeMatha Catholic High School (Md.) coach Mike Jones will be Team USA head coach and Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway, Memphis East H.S. (Tenn.) and Herman Harried (Lake Clifton H.S., Baltimore, Md.) are the assistant coaches.
The rest of 2018 USA team for the Nike Hoop Summit includes one player skipping college and going straight to the G-league, 3 Duke recruits, 2 Kentucky recruits, 2 Kansas recruits, 1 Vanderbilt recruit, 1 NBA draft eligible player and 2 undecided big-time prospects.
