It seemed the stage was set for a barn burner as #7 ranked Summit, coming off a 55-3 win over the Mountain View Cougars hosted a #3 ranked Redmond squad that was riding high following a 40-7 victory over #1 ranked Bend High.

Summit apparently had no interest in a shootout, as they dominated Redmond in all aspects of the game, pulling the upset and blowing the Panthers out 49-7.
Redmond’s Derek Brown (SR, 5-10, 175) came into the game with 1,375 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns, averaging a 14.5 yards per carry.
Brown would finish with 91 yards rushing on 18 attempts, with 79 of those yards coming on 2 runs.

Summit took the opening kickoff, drove to the 15 yard line, and missed a 32 yard field goal.
Redmond was forced to punt after going 3 and out.
Sean Kent (SR, 5-7, 165) returned the punt 49 yards to Redmond’s 20, setting up a short touchdown drive capped off by an 8 yard pass to Nick Rassmussen (SR, 6-3, 190).
Rassmussen would go on to score another touchdown on the next drive, a 41 yard catch and run.

On the ensuing drive, Stuart Bledsoe (SR, 5-11, 170) picked off a Bunker Parrish (JR, 5-11, 200) pass, returning it to the Redmond 23.
Jacob Thompson (SR, 5-11, 200) finished the drive with a 4 yard run.
Redmond’s offense saw a brief boost early in the 2nd quarter, as Brown broke off a 40 yard run. 3 plays later, Parrish fumbled the ball, giving the Storm the ball at the 46 yard line.
Summit went into the half with a 35-0 lead, after a 9 yard strike to Kaden Wadsworth (SR, 6-4, 200) from QB John Bledsoe (JR 6’3″ 185), his 3rd of 4 TDs on the day.
Redmond’s lone score came midway through the 3rd quarter, as Brown finished off a 9 play drive with a 1 yard touchdown run.
After forcing a turnover on downs, Redmond put together another promising drive before Sean Kent recovered a Will Branson (SR, 5-10, 175) fumble.
Two plays later, Kent caught a 95 yard touchdown pass, his 2nd of the game, giving him 148 yards on 4 receptions.

Dawson Ruhl (JR, 5-11, 160) scored the final touchdown, a 38 yard run, before the clock mercifully wound down.
Redmond will host the Mountain View Cougars (1-5) next week, while Summit (5-1) will travel to Ridgeview (3-3) to face the Ravens.
