Two former southern Oregon football rivals are making some more news in the world of football, and in a BIG good way.
Jason Slowey (pictured above at Center for SF 49-ers), and Bryce Peila who both starred at Western Oregon University are keeping the dream alive to play in the NFL.
Slowey, a North Medford graduate was drafted in 6th round last spring by the 49-ers, who later released him, but was recently signed by the Oakland Raiders.
Peila, a Crater High school graduate, recently earned All-American honors at the NCAA-II level as a defensive back. Peila will play in Monday’s ‘Freedom Bowl’ which showcases graduating seniors, and the chance to be seen by NFL scouts.
Once rivals, are became teammates at WOU, and now both have the door open for a chance at a career in the NFL, and both are deserved of that opportunity.
