This might be the year central Oregon fans may see two OSAA class 4A teams meet head-on for the State Baseball Championship.
Ridgeview and Sisters are off to tremendous quality starts with both ranked in the Top-10 closing out the preseason.
The Ravens, who captured the 4A Football Title in only the school’s second year, are ranked 7th, and own an a 8-1 record with its only loss to 6A Jesuit, 5-2.
The #4 Outlaws from Sisters are 9-2, and off to a 3-0 start in Sky-Em play.
Sisters bowed out of last year’s semifinals, and the quarterfinals in 2012. The Outlaws have won back-to-back League Titles under Head Coach Steve Hodges.
Ridgeview did not make the playoffs last year, but are making noise this season as the Ravens pounded Estacada Friday, 20-1 and 14-6.
The Ravens with Head Coach Josh Davis (Oregon City graduate) lead the state in runs scored with 122 and have allowed the 4th fewest runs among 4A teams.

Ridgeview is in its final year of playing in a ‘special district’ with Crook County, and will join the 5-team ‘5A Intermountain Conference’ in the fall of 2014. Crook County (4-4) will merge with Madras in the Tri-Valley League.
The Ravens feature are senior laden team led by Dakota Schaumburg, Jeffrey Turbitt, Kahl Malott, and Mitch Springer. Mix in junior Colling Runge and Sophomore George Mendazona, and the Ravens bring some serious pop to the plate in 2014.
And, the Ravens bring some excitement and energy to their home games as they are the only School I’ve seen this year to have a PA announcer, with in-between inning music.
Mark you calendar, and let’s hope on Saturday, June 7th, we see Ridgeview and Sisters tangle for the 4A Title at Volcanoe Stadium in Keizer (Salem).
