Bend started the week ranked #1 in the 5A OSAA Power Rankings, but was stunned on its home diamond Monday when Ridgeview blanked the Bears, 8-0.

Ridgeview beats Bend again, 11-10.

The stage was set for the 2nd game of the series Wednesday with a pair of #5’s facing off. Bend’s (Sr.) Sammy Godlove and (So.) George Mendazona of Ridgeview.

The Lava Bears took an early lead to start the windy and cold affair, but Ridgeview responded with 2 runs of its own led by sophomore George Mendazona. Bend led 4-2 after one.

Like the cold breeze, Ridgeview never went away, and chipped away at the deficit until the tables turned. And, they turned in a hurry on Bend reliever Hunter McDonald.
