COUGS SCRATCH OUT WIN AT 6A MCNARY:PHOTO ESSAY

One would have to venture far back in Mt.View HS football history to find out when the last time the Cougars opened a season with a 1-4 record.

It didn’t take the defending 5A Champions long to realize they weren’t going to make history for that reason, and battled and fought for a hard-earned preseason win against their 3rd straight class 6A opponent.

Mt.View used its defensive front-4 to finally sack McNary of Salem to post a 23-20 victory, and improve the Cougs record to 2-2.

Sr. RB Kyle Ayres helps Mt.View move the chains and keep ball control over the Celtics.
