DUCKS DROP HEAD COACH MARK HELFRICH

Mark Helfrich is out at the University of Oregon.

Ducks Athletic Director Rob Mullens put out a press release saying the school was looking for “a change in leadership in the football program” Tuesday night.

The Ducks were 37-16 under Helfrich, who took over for Chip Kelly in 2013. However after a 9 -4 season last year, the Ducks are 4-8 heading into December.

The final straw appears to be the Ducks losing their annual Civil War game to the Oregon State University Beavers, 34-24, last Saturday. The Ducks had won the last 8 meetings with the Beavers before this year.

2016 will also be the Ducks first losing season since 2004.

Helfrich was the offensive coordinator for the Ducks for 4 years under Kelly, before taking over as head coach.
