A heavy ground game by Harrisburg gets the Eagles their first state championship in 50 years
HILLSBORO, OR – On a cloudy Saturday morning at Hillsboro Stadium, two football teams showed up to leave it all out on the field. Only one would get the championship. After a high scoring game, Harrisburg proved that they were the best of the 3A ranks, defeating Salem Academy 34-27 on Saturday.
At first, it looked like Salem Academy (10-3, 5-1 PacWest Conference, 3-1 Playoffs) had the game wrapped up early, as senior quarterback Colton Daniels found senior wide receiver Rylan Stamback for a 3-yard score, only taking two and a half minutes of the clock.
