NO "Turkey Bowl" FOR THE DUCKS

By far the best part of the Thanksgiving Holiday is waking up, playing backyard football, then going back and eating a plate full of turkey and stuffing..

Well, in Eugene, they don’t do that.

Oregon will practice Thursday a little later than they have all year, but after that will not be allowed to eat turkey. A tradition that has started since the run of Chip Kelly.

Turkey has known properties to make you tired.. The Ducks can not have any of that in preparation for their biggest game of the year.

Saturday’s 116th civil war will be a extremely meaningful game for this Oregon team, who lost to Stanford this past weekend.

A loss last weekend that most likely will keep the Ducks from the sunny sky of Miami.

However, the possibility is still there.

If the Ducks win on Saturday, AND UCLA beats Stanford. Oregon will be back to play in the Pac-12 Championship Game for the second year in a row, against the same UCLA team.

The Ducks still have an opportunity to make it to a BCS bowl game even if Stanford wins Saturday. The Fiesta Bowl is the most likely option right now.. But it will all depend how the cards end up falling.

Nonetheless, Chip Kelly’s “look up in December and see where we are” policy will not end up the way he would have liked at the start of the season, unless a lot of things go right in the next few weeks.
