Astoria sophomore Darian Hageman jumps to state lead

Most of the top high school runners in Oregon took advantage of the grand stage of Hayward Field at the Oregon Relays in Eugene, but Astoriasophomore Darian Hageman stayed close to home and had a field day at the Daily Astorian Invitational, a 16-team meet at Seaside High School. Hageman leaped to state leading marks in the high jump (5-7) and triple jump (38-5.5), while also winning the pole vault (10-9) and long jump (17-7.75). Hageman is also ranked 9th in the pole vault and 4th in the long jump in Oregon. Hageman was state champion in the triple jump as a freshman last season for the Fisherman.
