Finally, the post season. It’s been quite a basketball year and now the stage is set for a finale that could be one for the ages especially for North and South Medford high schools. It’s going to be quite a time this week during the Table Rock Sports Bi Mart High School Playoff Games of the Week.
The OSAA Playoffs begin Tuesday night for the unbeaten South Medford Panther Girls. They meet Thurston is a 7 p.m. game at the new South Medford high gym.
Live Radio with Joe Brett on AM 610 begins at 6:30 p.m Also live Internet and mobil devices. South Medford is the number two seeded team in the 32 team tournament.
Also on Tuesday night the 8th seeded Crater Comet girls of Coach JT Thomas take on South Salem. The game is at Crater high and will be broadcast live on the Internet with Michael Campbell.
On Wednesday night the 6A Boys tournament begins with North and South Medford playing at home.
Number 4 seed North Medford Black Tornado are home against West Salem at 7 p.m. Live Radio with Tom Ersepke on AM 730 begins at 6:30 p.m. Also live Internet and Personal Mobil Device audio.
South Medford’s Panthers are also home on Wednesday playing McMinnville. LIve radio with Joe Brett on Am 610 at 6:30 p.m.
If North and South boys advance to Saturday’s Round of 16 and make it to the Rose Garden in Portland for the Championships. They would meet on Thursday, March 8 at 3:15 p..m in the opening round. In the seeding of the tournament, Number 4 meets #5 seed. What a coincidence, bad one at that.
Crater and South Medford girls each would also play two home games to advance to Portland. If South does they would play 8:15 p.m. Wednesday March 7. A Crater advance would mean a opening day game at 1:30 p.m.
Will any or all of these teams advance to the Final 8 site in Portland? As weird as this may sound, but I think all four teams will earn their way to Portland. These four teams are playing some pretty good basketball now so don’t be surprised if it turns out that way.
Enjoy the games, please tell your friends. Remember all games available On Demand 24 hours per day at no cost.
