Rogues Blank Sox to Win Series
The Medford Rogues (12-1) defeated the Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox (8-5) 6-0 on Wednesday night at Harry & David Field.
One night after giving up a season high 16 runs, the Rogues pitching staff responded tonight with a combined four-hit shutout.
Jesse Spangler (Presentation College) set the tone on the mound with three scoreless innings and three punchouts in his first start of the year. Phoenix, Oregon native Aaron Hutchinson (Campellsville University) fired four scoreless and struck out two in the middle innings.
The league-leader in wins, Brice Foster (Menlo College), pitched the final two innings and struck out a pair.
The Rogues pitchers did not allow a walk all night.
Omar Ortiz (Vanguard University) did not record a hit in the game but did drive in two runs and stole a base.
The Rogues welcome the Reno Rams to Harry & David Field on Thursday to kick off a four-game series.
