However Summit kicker Kaden Wadsworth (Sr. 6-4 200) missed his first of 3 errant extra point attempts, so the Storm were only up 6-0.

The Panthers turned the ball over on a 4th down fumble on the next possession, but were able to force Storm to a 3 and out.

On the second play of their second possession, Redmond RB Derrek Brown (Sr. 5-10 175) gashed the Storm defense for a 61 yard TD, and with the successful extra point, the Panthers took a 7-6 lead to end the first quarter.

With time running down in the half, QB Bunker Parish (Jr. 5-11 200) threw a ‘Hail Mary’ pass which was intercepted by S Nick Rasmussen (Sr. 6-3 190), and returned inside the 10 yard line with 1 second left in the half.

Wadsworth redeemed himself with field goal as time ran off the clock.

The Storm were leading 21-7 coming out of the half and Redmond was looking to turn around their fate, as they marched down the field in a drive which took over 7 minutes off the clock and resulted in Brown’s 2nd TD run of the game, and his 22nd for the year.

The Panthers were within a touchdown, 21-14, and seemed to have momentum on their side, but then Summit turned on the after-burners.
