Please meet Jaylin Parnell, another local athlete nominated for Athlete of the Year. Linebacker Jaylin Parnell was chosen Class 6A defensive player of the year, and also made first-team all-state as a running back. In the Southwest Conference, he was named offensive and defensive player of the year for the second straight season. He set the school records with 1,442 yards rushing and 24 touchdowns.
