Kristen, AKA Patti or Pat, Moore has a love for the game that is contagious and it is clear that it can be felt amongst her Panther teammates. If Pat isn’t making a teammate laugh, then she’s probably thinking of a way to. “The friends that I have made are my favorite part about softball. I also love the competition!”
Don’t let her fun demeanor fool you, because she is a killer on the pitching mound. Halfway through her senior season, she has racked up 185 strikeouts, walked 56 batters and only given up 43 total runs, oh and she’s pitched every single inning for the Panthers on her way to a 10-5 record. This ace has been no schlump behind the plate either, batting .651 with 10 RBIs, and 13 runs scored.
Pat has her South Medford (10-5 overall, 7-3 SWC) team off to a pretty good start to this season, ranking 10th in state and third is the Southwest conference. “(My goal) for this team is to definitely make the playoffs and to just continue to work through conference with a winning mentality.”
Pat has been a playing softball since the age of six and has been a Panther since her Freshmen year, when she got the chance to play with older sister and current Southern Virginia softball player, Rachel Moore. Pat was able to share her favorite memory as a Panther with her sister,”My favorite memory was making palyoffs my freshmen year, because we were underdogs and made it to the semifinals when no one expected us to, and I got to play with my sister (Rachel).”
Pat will continue her softball playing career at DePaul university in Chicago, Illinois next year, “I am most excited to start all over fresh and creating new relationships with my coaches at DePaul.” When Patti isn’t playing softball you can catch her hanging with her friends or playing with her dogs, both kind of go hand and hand.
