The top-rated Sisters Outlaws baseball team will meet #2 Henley in the OSAA U.S. Bank/Les Schwab Tires Class 4A State Championship Saturday after taking charge with a 7-2 victory on their home field over North Marion on Tuesday (6/3).
This is the Outlaws first trip to the State Championship since 2002 when they lost to The Dalles 17-6. Sisters also made it to the Title game and lost in 1956 to Glide, 2-1.
Henley turned back Sisters in last years semifinals, so this a rematch for the Title.

Henley is the returning Champion after the beating Newport last year, 12-5.
The Hornets buzzed Ridgeview with a 4-3 Semifinal win in Klamath Falls to make the school’s 8th appearance in a Championship game.
Henley has won 7-State Championships in 7 Title game appearances. (2013, 2005, 2004, 1996, 1991, 1983, 1981)
Senior Joey Morgan threw a complete game victory notching 8 strikeouts. He also knocked in 4 runs.
The Outlaws got out front early when lead off hitter Justin Harrer was walked in the 1st, then stole 2nd, advanced to 3rd on an error, and was driven home by a Jardon Weems single.
Sisters put up another run in the second, two more in the third, and one run in the 4th to take a commanding 5-0 lead.

But then, North Marion started to mount a comeback when Colin Barrow scored on a passed ball and Emry Paterson batted in Shane McKillip in the top of the 5th to bring them within 3.

Then Morgan stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded, his team in front 5-2, and put the game out of reach drilling a 2run Single to put the game out of reach 7-2.
Morgan gave up one hit in the 7th to finish out the win. Morgan owns a 14-9 overall win-loss record.

Alec Gannon went 2-2 with 1 run and 1 RBI, and Jardon Weems went 3-3 with a 1 run and 1 RBI as well.

Coach Steve Hodges, a Corvallis HS graduate, is in his 8th season as Head Coach with a career record 165-58 (74%), and 16-7 in playoff games including 3 semifinal apprearances.
The Outlaws will face Henley on Saturday at 5pm at Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer.
