The Ridgeview Ravens came out swinging against the top-ranked Bend Lava Bears on Monday (4/21/14) at Bend High School, and went on to score a 8-0 victory on a windy and overcast day.
The Ravens win their 8th straight pushing their record to 12-1 including an undefeated record on the road. The only loss coming to Class 6A Jesuit.

Sophomore shortstop George Mendazona lead the way for the Ravens with 3 hits.
Senior Pitcher Dakota Schaumburg pitched a complete game shutout, giving up only 7 hits while striking out 6.
For the Lava Bears, three of those hits belonged to senior pitcher Dalton Hurd who suffered his firlst loss of the season.
The game began with the Raven going up 1-0 in the first inning. Then in the second, a line drive single by Schaumburg, and consecutive successful bunts loaded the bases before Schaumburg was forced home with a walk.
Then Ridgveiw’s Collin Runge hit into what appeared to be a double play with one out, but when Bend’s first baseman dropped the ball, two runs were able to score. Runge lead all players with 4 RBI’s on the day.

The Ravens put up a total of five runs in the second and added another two more in the fourth.
The Lava Bears drop to 11 wins and 4 losses on the season with the loss.
The Ravens and Lava Bears will face each other again on Ridgeview’s home field in Redmond on Wednesday. First pitch at 4:30.
