STORM BLOWS THROUGH THE RAVENS NEST IN STRAIGHT SETS

The #4 Summit Storm Volleyball team (7-3) defeated the Ridgeview Ravens (6-4) Tuesday night in IMC League play in straight sets, 25-12, 25-19 and 25-23.

The Storm looked dominant for the second straight IMC match, after defeating Redmond (0-9) in straight sets on Thursday (Sep. 18) 25-7, 25-9, 25-11, in the first game of play.

The Storm set the tone on a first serve ace by Fr. Middle Blocker Haley Smith (5’11”).

Opposite Hitter Sr. Renee Kenneally (5’9”) who had two digs on the final point of the second game to secure the set for Summit.

Kenneally, who had 11 kills, says the team is hitting its stride at the right time, “It feels great this team has improved a lot.”

Storm Coach Jill Waskom said that the Ravens did not go down without a fight and she is pleased with her team’s performance, “Ridgeview gave us a push there at the end.. to walk out of here, an away court, with a three set win is good.”

The Storm will face #1 Bend (7-2) in the Lava Bear’s house on Thursday (Sep. 27) to round out a three game IMC stretch.

The Ravens will look for their first IMC win after going 6-2 in non-league games, at Mountain View (6-3) on Thursday.

In other IMC action, Mt.View kept Redmond winless (0-3/0-9) with a sweep of the Panthers, 25-15, 25-8, 25-9. The Lady Cougars are 1-0/6-3 on the year and host Ridgeview Thursday night.

Top ranked Bend was idle, and will host #4 Summit Thursday.

Elsewhere, Sister’s Head Coach Miki McFadden and the #1 ranked Outlaws posted an easy 3-set win over Sutherlin (2-1/8-4) Tuesday night,  25-14, 25-13, 25-12 in Sky-Em League action.

Sisters (3-0/14-1) travels to Cottage Grove for its next match Thursday night.
