COUGS WITH UNFINISHED BUSINESS HEADING IN TO 2015 I-M-C PLAY

Mountain View’s 2014 season is a bitter sweet memory for the Cougar faithful. After going 8-1 in the regular season, with their only loss coming on the road against the # 3 Springfield Millers, 40-34, the Cougars lost their 2nd game of the year in the first round of the play offs to the #16 seed in the play-offs, Corvallis, 28-14.

COACH CRUM TALKS TO THE TEAM AFTER PRACTICE

We asked Head Coach Brian Crum what lessons from last year he is stressing to the Cougars this off season. “Stay hungry,” he said “It was a disappointment last year… we have got to be able to maintain… and I think this is a group you are going to see that from.”

Their first serving of football comes up this Friday at 6:30 on PlayActionSportsMedia.com when Mt. View hosts the Wilsonville Wildcats.

Wilsonville lost at home to the Cougars last year, 21-14 in the season opener, and in 2013 the Cougars beat them at Mt. View 26-13.

The Cougars then go on the road in week # 2 to face Central H.S.  who the Cougars beat 46-30 last year.

In week three, the Cougars return home to take on Crater.

The Cougars saw a large crop of seniors leave last year, including RB/QB Cody Anthony, WRs Dantley Wilcox, Austin Albin, and Chris Adamo, and TE Anthony Rushton.

QB Mike Irwin takes a snap during walk-throughs.

The new look receiving corps will feature Sr. Jacob Rey, Jr. Adam Dehm, Jr. John Pfister, and Sr. Colton Love, and Jr. Mike Irwin will step into the starting quarterback roll.

On defense, look for a big season from new comer, LB Lane Krisman, who MLB Spencer Klein says is the hardest hitter on the defense.

The Cougars will utilize multiple sets on defense, and will rely on movement before the snap to confuse the opponent, on offense, Coach Crum says they like to use their Tight Ends and will rely on power running to set up the passing game.
